Trump’s Feb. 18 executive order directing greater access and affordability for the procedure. Reflecting the clear and consistent teaching of the Church that IVF is a grave moral evil, Bishops Robert E. Barron and Daniel E. Thomas recently issued a statement urging the administration to instead support greater access to restorative reproductive medicine.

This became the official position of the United States government on February 18, when President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order expanding access to in-vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures through “policy recommendations to protect IVF access and aggressively reduce out-of-pocket and health plan costs for such treatments,” according to a fact sheet published by the White House on the same day.
The 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5, with a Kickoff Vigil at the Rhode Island State House this afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. The 40 Days for Life Spring Campaign runs from Ash Wednesday through Sunday, April 13, with vigil hours every day at the public right-of-way outside the Planned Parenthood Providence abortion facility, 175 Broad St. The local campaign is coordinated by Rhode Island Right to Life and the diocesan Office of Life and Family Ministry. RUMFORD — St. Margaret School recently held its annual Christmas baby shower for Mary, a community event designed to celebrate the upcoming birth of Jesus Christ and support women in need. The Diocese of Providence is hosting a Traveling Eucharistic Rosary Congress from Sat., October 57 through Fri., October 11. The Traveling Eucharistic Rosary Congress is a week-long period of intense, around-the-clock prayer consisting of Perpetual Adoration and Hourly Rosary, offered in a spirit of reparation.
