St. Jeanne Jugan pray for us!

The Diocese of Providence is blessed by the service of the Little Sisters of the Poor in the our diocese!

Born in Brittany, in France, St. Jeanne Jugan devoted herself entirely to care of the poor, especially widows, living in community with two other women. Though she established the Little Sisters of the Poor in 1842, she was not recognized as the order’s founder until 1893. She is considered a patron of the elderly and August 30 is her Feast Day! St. Jeanne Jugan pray for us!
