Join Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, D. D., Bishop of Providence, celebrant and homilist, for this special Solemn Holy Mass marking the closing of the Diocese of Providence’s 150th anniversary year in the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in the presence of the Apostolic Nuncio (the Pope’s official representative to the Church in the United States and to its Government), His Excellency, Most Rev. Christophe Pierre, D.D., J.C.D. and other honored guests.
During the Holy Mass, the Gregorian Concert Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Rev. Monsignor Anthony Mancini, Rector of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, will perform the responsorial psalm that Bishop Tobin commissioned Msgr. Mancini to compose for the 150th Anniversary of the Diocese of Providence, “The Lord has done great things for us,” accompanied by Mr. Philip Faraone, K.G.C.H.S., Organist of the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, on the great Cathedral organ.
