Gabriel Project

A program that can recruit and train volunteers at a parish level, to work with women and families facing problem pregnancies, delivering a message of hope and support. The Project Gabriel message is a profound commitment, not only to the unborn, but also to their mothers.

Thank you to St. Peter’s School Kindergarten Class! Once again, St. Peter’s kindergarten class, Warwick, sold flowers for the Gabriel Project!  These green-thumb students planted lovely flower bulbs in their beautiful "Mother’s Garden" along side their school.  The children grow & then sell these grown-with-love flowers in memory of all mothers, living and deceased.  The Gabriel Project is grateful to teacher, Ms. McArthur, and her talented & giving class for remembering the Gabriel Project again this year and for their generous donation to help mothers & babies in need!

For whom is this program appropriate?

  • Adult volunteers who desire to make a commitment to supporting a woman/family through a problem pregnancy.
  • Women and families who are dealing with a problem pregnancy.

How it works:

  • The expectant mother receives information about the Gabriel Project from a friend, neighbor, community organization, or parish member and calls the Respect Life Office, where help is available in English and Spanish.
  • The Respect Life Office briefly interviews the mother to assess her needs, assuring her that all information she provides is completely confidential.
  • The mother is referred to a Gabriel Project location most convenient to her where the local Gabriel Project coordinator meets with her to complete the intake information, obtain her signature to continue advocacy, and determine the support services she needs.
  • The local Gabriel Project coordinator, with the help of the Respect Life Office, determines whether the mother has other needs that could involve the pastor, the parish community, and other non-diocesan agencies.
  • A Gabriel Angel volunteer begins working with the mother to meet her needs.

PROGRAM NOTE: This program is available in English and Spanish and can be parish-based. Please know that there is an application process for Gabriel's Angels volunteers.
