"Our Office of Black Catholic Ministry is so many things...but really, it's more than the annual Black History Month essay contest, and more than the wonderful masses we hold throughout the year...it's about Evangelization -it's about bringing people in," says Patty January, coordinator for the diocesan office of Black Catholic Ministry.
The Office offers programs of educational awareness concerning Black Catholic Culture and history. Some of the programs offerings include: Kwanzaa, Kujenga (a Black Leadership retreat for African American youth), Black History Month, Annual Martin Luther King Mass, St. Martin de Porres Mass, Days of Reflection and Revival, Vacation Bible School, Essay Contest and Retreats.
